Involuntary Parks around the world attract wildlife and plants to an otherwise abandoned area, creating new and often startlingly beautiful ecologies. Wild animals, such as deer, are drawn to these new habitats and the opportunities they offer for survival. We take inspiration from this deer sense – an inquisitive, alert and sensitive presence – and use the antlers as a metaphor for wildness and regeneration in the urban environment. By embodying the spirit of the deer in this way, the antlers function as radio antennae, seeking out new ideas, and then shedding them back into the landscape.
